Invenergy LLC, a developer, owner and operator of renewable and natural gas power generation facilities, headquartered in downtown Chicago, is currently looking to hire an Control Center Operator - Wind. 

This position is located in the western suburbs of Chicago at Invenergy’s 24 hour operations center. The Associate Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and the analysis of Invenergy’s fleet of wind turbines. 

Responsibilities will include the following:

·      Remote monitoring and resetting of wind turbines and other plant equipment

·      Monitoring weather at sites for safety of maintenance technicians

·      Outage and schedule reporting

·      Communication with wind centers, customers, and power markets

·      Curtailing plant output, if needed, depending on market and third party conditions

·      Analysis of data to diagnose and resolve issues

·      Position will be on a rotating shift that will require the person to work nights, weekends,  and holidays

Qualifications include the following:

·      Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field, Associates Degree plus 2 years experience, or 5 years of power plant controls experience

·      Proficient in Microsoft Excel

·      Ability to become certified as an operator in various power market

·      Experience with wind turbines, knowledge of monitoring software such as PI and SmartSignal, and previous certification as a power system operator are a plus
