Regional Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator
 

Location: Grand Ridge Energy Center, Ransom, IL or Headquarters, Chicago, IL

 

Invenergy LLC, a developer, owner and operator of power generation and renewable energy assets, headquartered in downtown Chicago, is seeking an energetic individual for Regional Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator. The position is based at the Grand Ridge Energy Center in Ransom, IL or Invenergy’s headquarters in Chicago, IL.

 

The position will work with multiple energy facilities throughout the United States.

 

Job Description:

 

  • Assist with the development, implementation and communication of corporate health and safety policies.

  • Collaborate with multiple business units to institute control and remedial measures to insure the safety and well-being of all plant employees.

  • Support the maintenance of the EHS Compliance System for facilities throughout the United States.

  • Conduct H&S training on prescribed issues.

  • Maintain the web-based training program and training logs for the applicable energy facilities.

  • Maintain internal EHS audit records and prepare reports for management review.

  • Participate as a key member of the companywide EHS Committee.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in a related discipline.

  • Working knowledge of Federal and Midwestern State regulations regarding EHS matters, preferably those specific to the power generation industry.

  • Travel 20% - 30% of the time to energy facilities.

  • Strong background in H&S policies, procedures and plans, specifically:

-          LOTO, electrical safety, fall protection, confined space entry, lifting/crane operations

  • Familiarity with SPCC Plans, waste management, Tier II reporting, Construction Storm Water Permits is preferred

  • Minimum of two to five years of related experience in a plant environment.

  • High degree of initiative and ability to work well with minimal oversight.

  • Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Strong project management skills.
