Job Description
MET Tower Technician
Invenergy LLC, a developer, owner and operator of renewable and thermal
power generation facilities, located in the downtown
Chicago, is currently looking to hire a MET Tower
Technician to oversee the installation of meteorological (MET) towers and
equipment as well as provide field support for operating wind farms. This
position is based at the Grand Ridge Energy Center in Ransom, IL.
Responsibilities will include the following:

Perform
installations, operations, maintenance and technical support to achieve
safe, cost effective operation and maintenance of MET systems with
minimal supervision.

Maintain and
troubleshoot MET tower systems, communications.

Maintain and be
responsible for company vehicle, tools and equipment to maintain a safe
and efficient operation.

Assist in the
administration of field operations in areas such as development of
operating procedures, environmental reporting, sub-contractor oversight,
field support and inventory.

Perform/direct
housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean safe work environment and
professional appearance.

Work within and
ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental procedures.

Able to work
during scheduled hours as well as unscheduled hours.
Job Requirements:
-
H.S. Diploma or
equivalent education preferred.
-
Minimum one year
of directly related experience preferred.
-
Experience
operating skid loaders, forklifts preferred.
-
Valid driver’s
license with clean driving record with experience pulling trailers.
-
Education or
experience in general construction, mechanical maintenance, electrical
maintenance, or instrumentation and controls.
-
Must be able to
work outdoors in inclement weather.
-
Ability to move
and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
-
Must be able to
climb up to 80 meters.
-
This position
requires a highly flexible individual capable of becoming multi-skilled
and working in a Team environment performing various Team support
functions.

General computer
skills.

Will train
extensively in the operations area to compliment your skills.
