Invenergy LLC, a developer, owner and operator of renewable and thermal power generation facilities located in downtown Chicago, is currently looking to hire an experienced Manager of Development to help manage and grow the company’s portfolio of energy projects throughout the Company’s Central Region. The individual will be responsible for identifying and evaluating strategic sites for possible development, defining, managing the resource assessment process, initiating and managing generation interconnection activities, overseeing project design, implementing a community outreach program with landowners, community leaders and environmental organizations, and directing the project permitting and approval process throughout the central region of the United States.  The position will entail oversight of new and current development projects through development and into construction.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications: Knowledge of the energy field, project engineering or project management skills in energy, real estate development or other related field Applicants should possess an advanced degree in engineering, science, economics, public policy, or related field, or equivalent experience. Project management skills and experience; consultant management, environmental permitting, and strong quantitative, analytical, and research skills are required.     Other skills or requirements include:

  • A BS or BA from an accredited college program and at least 5 years in progressively responsible experience in the energy/utility market or applicable sector in management.
  • Strong organizational, networking, leadership, time management, and accounting skills.
  • Effective public speaking and managerial skills
  • Familiarity with environmental and regulatory permitting Technical skills to understand and present the aspects of a renewable energy project.
