Invenergy LLC, a developer, owner and operator of renewable and natural gas power generation facilities, headquartered in downtown Chicago, is currently looking to hire a Power Scheduler. 

This position is located in the western suburbs of Chicago at Invenergy’s 24 hour operations center and reports to the Control Center Manager. The Power Scheduler will work with Invenergy’s wind and natural gas generation fleet. 

Responsibilities will include the following:

• Bidding projects into power markets and making dispatch communications to our customers
• Monitoring prices of power markets and making economic decisions about which sites should be generating electricity
• Analyzing market data to look for opportunities in the markets
• Assisting others in 24 hour center with monitoring and resetting of wind turbines, outage scheduling, and communications with power markets, customers, and generating sites
• Position will be on a rotating shift that will require the person to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications include the following:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field plus 2 years experience, Associates degree and 4 years experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work on multiple projects and under tight deadlines
• Ability to become certified as an operator in various power markets
• Experience with computer programs such as PI, or experience in power markets such as ERCOT, PJM, NYISO, or MISO a plus
