This position will be responsible for managing all aspects of our wind
analysis program. The holder
of this position will be responsible for managing relationships with our
third party met services providers, as well as performing calculations for
internal estimates. The
position reports to Vice President, Engineering.
Responsibilities:

Evaluate locations for wind farm development, met tower placement,
etc.

Take overall management responsibility for
a 300+ met tower development program.

Evaluate and integrate remote sensing technologies (SODAR/LIDAR) into
our development program.

Continually update long term wind roses for projects in late stage
development.

Perform preliminary wind analysis, including identification of long
term reference sites.

Manage final third party energy analysis contracting.
Be a strong advocate for the performance of the project.

Evaluate possibilities to either reduce use of third party services
for met data collection, or at a minimum provide standard guidelines
for these services.

Manage forecasting for operational projects, or provide in house
forecasting services.

Evaluate and integrate new technologies for wind flow analysis and
turbine siting.

Manage turbine suitability evaluation process.
Qualifications
-
BS or MS in meteorology, atmospheric science, engineering or a related
degree

5 years experience wind energy assessment and analysis
-
Computer proficiency in spreadsheet modeling using Microsoft Excel

Verbal and written communications skills

Some travel required
