Wind Training Specialist - WI or IL

 

Invenergy LLC, a developer, owner and operator of renewable and natural gas power generation facilities, headquartered in downtown Chicago, is currently looking to hire a Wind Training Specialist.  This position is located in either our Forward Energy Center in Brownsville, WI or our Grand Ridge Energy Center in Ransom, Illinois.

 

The Wind Training Specialist has the responsibility of managing the delivery of all training within the Invenergy wind fleet.  This individual will partner with operations to develop training programs to drive improved performance and achieve results. The position reports to the Vice President, Operations and Asset Management.

 

 Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and implement dynamic, high quality training materials for wind technicians.

  • Conduct wind technician training at the sites to enhance wind technicians’ level of knowledge and expertise.

  • Develop and deliver technical procedures and manuals to enhance wind technician conformance to company standards.

  • Develop long range training programs for sites to aid in new hire development and enhance technician progression.

  • Interface with site O&M Managers to identify training deficiencies throughout the wind fleet and develop corrective actions.

  • Advise Asset Management group on training budgets and opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

  • Prepare reports as directed by Asset Management group.

  • Track training KPI’s for the Invenergy fleet.

  • Liaison with the NERC Compliance Manager to ensure thoroughness and completeness of required training and documentation.

  • Liaison with the Information Technology Manager to implement the most modern training delivery methods available.

  • Coordinate efforts across numerous geographically dispersed locations via Technician Training Leads on-site.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Minimum of three to five years in a power plant training position; wind experience a plus.

  • Demonstrated achievement in the creation and implementation of an Operations & Maintenance training program.

  • Superior technical writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Superior presentation and group facilitation skills.

  • Self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver results under minimal supervision.

  • Able to travel 20% of the time.
